Lesson 5 Recap-What Did We Learn

First, we started with Lesson 1: Understanding Audio & Signal Flow. Here, you learned the basics of how sound travels from a source, like a microphone, through a system to its final destination, like speakers. You now know how to follow the signal path and why it’s so important for making sure everything works smoothly.

In Lesson 2: Understand the Audio Mixer, we explored how mixers help control and shape sound. You learned what all the knobs, faders, and buttons do, and you now know how to navigate a mixer—like the Behringer X32—with confidence.

Next, in Lesson 3: Processors - EQ, we dove into the equalizer and how it helps you adjust the highs, mids, and lows of your sound. You learned how to use EQ to make audio clearer, fix problems like boomy bass or harsh highs, and make everything sound balanced.

Then, in Lesson 4: Processors - Dynamics, we tackled compressors and gates. Compressors help control volume, keeping loud sounds from getting too loud and quiet sounds from getting lost. Gates work like sound filters, letting through only the sounds you want while blocking out background noise.

By now, you’ve got a strong foundation in how sound works, how to control it with a mixer, and how to polish it with EQ, compressors, and gates. These are the building blocks of great audio, and you’re already well on your way to becoming an Audio Tech pro!
